Harding’s professional career began in 2002, when she gained a spot in the girl group Girls Aloud after auditioning for the ITV reality show Popstars: The Rivals. The group had twenty straight top ten singles in the UK (four of which were number ones), six studio albums certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI), two of which reached number one in the UK, and five BRIT Award nominations.
Harding began acting during the group’s hiatus, featuring in films such as Bad Day, Freefall, Run for Your Wife, and St. Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold. Harding provided three solo songs to the St. Trinian’s 2 soundtrack.
