Rachel Oniga Early Life and Background
She was born on May 23, 1957, in Ebute Metta, Lagos State, to parents from Eku, Delta State in southern Nigeria. Her state of origin is Delta state.
Rachael attended Abule-Oja Primary School in Lagos and Edo State for her secondary schooling.
Rachel Oniga Career
Her acting career began shortly after her divorce in 1993. She worked briefly for Ascoline Nigeria Limited, a Dutch consulting firm, before starring in her first film, Onome, and her first Yoruba film, Owo Blow.
Oniga has been in a number of important Nigerian films, including Sango, a film written by Wale Ogunyemi and directed by Obafemi Lasode, as well as Wale Adenuga’s television series Super Story. She has starred in a number of Nigerian movies and soap operas and has made her impact in the Nollywood world.
Majority of the roles she played while in Nollywood involved her being a mother or a troublesome mother-in-law (She acted these roles very well and professionally too).

Rachel Oniga divorced her husband in 1993 after she discovered he was having an affair with another woman. According to her, the strange woman took her husband away. She claims she is not a widow because she and her husband were divorced before he died.
