Career
After graduation, Ahmanson Jr. began his career at Home Savings of America, where he held a variety of leadership positions before being named President and CEO in 1995. He served in this capacity until the company was purchased by Washington Mutual in 1998.
Following the acquisition, Ahmanson Jr. joined Washington Mutual as a managing director, where he oversaw the company’s expansion and growth. He left Washington Mutual in 2001 to start Fieldstead & Company, a private investment firm specializing in philanthropy and impact investing.
Ahmanson Jr. has made significant contributions to a variety of charitable causes, including education, healthcare, and the arts, through Fieldstead & Company. In addition, he has served on the boards of several non-profit organizations, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art and the California Institute of the Arts.
