Sutton Tennyson, 37, was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds inside the garage of his southwest Atlanta home on November 3, 2018, according to Atlanta Police.
In 2018, Sutton Tennyson, Simmons’ former fiancé and father of her 5-year-old son, was tragically murdered outside of Sutton’s garage by Michael Williams. PEOPLE reported at the time that Williams surrendered to police and was charged with aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and murder. Tennyson died at the age of 37.
According to TMZ, Williams was also sentenced to 15 years in prison for possessing a handgun by a convicted felon. After at least 30 years, he’ll be eligible for parole.
Angela Simmons’ ex-fiance was Tennyson. According to police investigations, Tennyson was talking with another man in the driveway of a home under renovation in the 600 block of Jewel Drive, S.W. at the time of the incident.
Simmon’s grieved Tennyson on social media at the time of his death, writing, “thank you for leaving behind my greatest gift.” I’m in a lot of pain. I’m deafeningly deafeningly deafeningly Everyone, thank you for the outpouring of love. Rest In Peace, Sutton, I can’t believe I’m saying that. I swear I’ll keep SJ at bay in every way I can.”
“We got you,” Simmons echoed, adding a praying hands emoji and another red heart to a photo of Tennyson cuddling her baby bump when she was pregnant.
Tennyson was shot and died just outside his home on Nov. 3, 2018, following an apparent altercation with another guy. When police came, he was pronounced dead in his garage, having sustained over a dozen bullet wounds.
