Hosa Wells Okunbo (born 7 January 1958, died 8 August 2021) was a Nigerian business entrepreneur, businessman, philanthropist, and skilled commercial pilot who died on August 8, 2021. He is a Nigerian Billionaire.
Hosa Okunbo was born in the Nigerian state of Edo, in the southern part of Nigeria. Reverend Robert Amos Okunbo, a priest, teacher, and community leader, raised him in Benin City. His state of origin is also Edo state.

Hosa Okunbo Education
Okunbo attended Government Primary School in Benin City, old Bendel State, now Edo State, for his primary education. In 1971, he enrolled at Federal Government College in Warri and took the West African Senior School Certificate Examination. Okunbo spoke English fluently and was a native speaker of the Edo language.
Okunbo studied at the Nigerian Civil Aviation Training Centre in Zaria, Kaduna State, to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot, and at the age of 21 he became a professional commercial pilot. In 1983, he also graduated from the ACME School of Aeronautics in Fort Worth, Texas, with an Airline Transport Pilot License.

He sat on various firm boards in Nigeria, including those in the agro-allied, petroleum, telecommunications, electricity, real estate, and banking industries, as either chairman or director.
Okunbo went on to work as a commercial pilot after graduation, and at the age of 25, he was promoted to captain.
He spent two years as a flight captain with Intercontinental Airlines and then three years with Okada Airlines. At the age of 30, he retired from flying after logging over 7,000 hours of flight experience and went into private business.
Okunbo founded Hoslyn Ventures Nigeria Ltd., a company that specialized in petroleum procurement in Nigeria.

- Wells San-Carlos Agro Farms Ltd., which revealed a $750 million, 9,000-hectare (22,000-acre) farm in Edo State in March 2016 with the goal of “creating 85,000 jobs.”
- Ocean Marine Security Ltd., an offshore asset-protection firm, provides services to major oil firms in Nigeria, notably the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
- The Escravos–Warri Crude Pipeline, which runs 46 kilometers (29 miles), was recently inaugurated by Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu.
- He is a key shareholder in Westminster Security Solutions Nigeria Ltd, a franchise of Westminster Group Plc UK.
- Wells Dredging Ltd., Wells Property Development Company Ltd., and Wells Entertainments Ltd. are among the Wells Group of enterprises, through which Okunbo financed the film Black November.

- Okunbo received the Global Peace Award from the chairman of the Order of Lafayette Awards on Saturday, September 21, 2019, in Geneva, Switzerland, “in appreciation of his achievements in global peace and commercial breakthroughs.”

Okunbo died on August 8, 2021, after being married for 11 years and having 11 children. He died in London on Saturday, August 7th 2021 after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
