Eddie Mair is a political pundit, journalist, and broadcaster from Scotland. He was born in Dundee on November 12, 1965, and grew up there. He is the host of BBC Radio 4’s PM, the Radio 4 Saturday iPM, and NewsPod.
Eddie Mair attended two public schools. He went to Whitfield High School (now Braeview Academy School) and turned down a university scholarship to work as a presenter on Radio Tay, a Dundee radio station. Eddie Mair Career
Eddie Mair began his career at the BBC in Glasgow as a sub-editor for Radio Scotland in 1987. He moved into radio and television hosting, hosting Good Morning Scotland and Reporting Scotland, as well as Eddie Mair Live in Radio Scotland’s drive-time slot. He hosted Breakaway on BBC Radio 4 in 1993.
Mair joined Radio 5 Live to conduct the Midday with Mair news show in 1994, after helping to develop the station. He hosted the BBC World Service program “The World” from 1996 until 2000.
Mair hosted the Sunday current affairs show Broadcasting House from its inception in April 1998 until 2003. He became Prime Minister in 2003. Mair has also hosted BBC Two’s Newsnight and BBC Three’s The 7 O’Clock News.

Eddie was confirmed as taking over the drivetime show on LBC from Iain Dale in August 2018, after he moved to nights as part of the station’s new autumn schedule. He began hosting the show Monday through Friday, 4-6 p.m., on September 3, 2018.
Mair was named News Journalist of the Year at the Sony Radio Academy Awards in 2005. He was also nominated for two Sony Awards for Midday with Mair on 5 Live and won a Sony Award for Speech Broadcaster of the Year and Best Breakfast Show.
