Dan Petrescu Cause of Death – Shortly after departure, a private helicopter carrying a Dan Petrescu, his wife and son, and numerous family friends crashed into an office building in Italy, killing everyone on board.
Dan Petrescu was in command of the single-engine plane when it crashed into the earth just 11 minutes after taking off from a Milan airport.
Petrescu, his 65-year-old wife Regina, their 30-year-old son Dan Stefan, three friends, and two crew members were on board, their route to Sardinia.
The crash claimed the lives of all eight people. Authorities say one of the victims was a small boy.
“I witnessed the plane lose control,” a witness named Andrea told the tgcom 24 news website.
“I caught a glimpse of it just before it was collapsing. I witnessed it take a dive.
“It was a low-flying plane. There was a lot of smoke and flames in the sky after that. The pieces were flying everywhere. I was terrified.”
As the plane lost altitude, another witness said he saw flames coming from the engine.
Firefighters rushed to the site in the San Donato Milanese area, but the plane’s passengers were unable to be saved.
Surprisingly, the building was empty at the time of the incident since it was being renovated, and numerous neighboring cars that were crushed by rubble or cremated in the explosion were also empty.
A subway station was also damaged, but no one was hurt this time.
At 1.04 p.m. local time, a Pilatus PC-12 single-engine plane took off from Linate airport’s main runway.
It made a right turn that would have led it to Olbia, Sardinia, but instead of traveling south, it turned towards San Donato. It went down after 11 minutes.
Carlo Cardinali of the Milan Fire Brigade reported, “The plane hit the building on the facade with an incredibly severe impact.”
“When the pilot made a turn, he observed something unusual.”
Mr Petrescu and the group were reportedly traveling to Sardinia to visit his 98-year-old mother at the family villa, according to reports.
