Ken Erics Ugo (KenErics) whose real name is Ugochukwu Ekenedilichukwu Eric Nwenweh is a Nigerian film and television actor, producer, director, and occasional musician.

He was born on February 28, 1985. He is best known for his appearance as Ugo in the film “The Illiterate,” which he co-starred in with Tonto Dikeh and Yul Edochie.

Ken Erics was born on February 28, 1985, in Kano State, Northwest Nigeria, to Eric Chukwuemeka Nwenweh and Grace Ifeyinwa Nwenweh, both of Enugwu-Ukwu in Anambra State, Southeast Nigeria. He is from the Igbo ethnic group.

Erics attended Binta Mustapha Science Nursery and Elementary School in Kano for his primary education and Dennis Memorial Grammar School (DMGS) in Onitsha, Anambra State for his secondary education. Erics has always had a love for the arts, which led to his acceptance to Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, where he earned a degree in Theatre Arts. He has a master’s degree in Theatre and Film Education as well.

Erics got his first movie appearance in the Chris Ubani directed ‘direct-to-dvd’ movie ‘Holy Prostitute’ in 2001, when he was a first-year student at the University, where he played a minor role as a medical doctor in just three scenes. He went on to graduate from the university and started auditioning for parts in home videos, where he landed a few more cameo roles. However, his performance as “Ugo” in the film “The Illiterate” in 2012 endeared him to viewers and provided him with further opportunities in the Nigerian film industry.

Eric’s first published work, “Cell 2,” has garnered recognition and has been used for stage productions and scholarly purposes in a host of Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Erics, who had previously run his own musical project, has been involved in the making of a variety of original movie soundtracks as an occasional singer and guitarist who plays the guitar and keyboard.

He’s also worked with notable actors such as Ngozi Ezeonu, Yul Educhie, Desmond Eliot, Chinwetalu Agu, Regina Daniels, among others.

Erics received the City People Entertainment Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2014, as well as the Afrifimo Award for Best Lead Actor in the United States. He went on to win the City People Entertainment Award for Best Lead Actor in 2015.

Erics was nominated for the Golden Movie Awards in 2018 for Best Supporting Actor and won the City People Entertainment Awards for Best Actor of the Year in 2017.

Ken Erics released his first music single, Inozikwa Omee, in December 2018. His debut single was well received by his fans. Ken Erics is clearly not going anywhere anytime soon, as shown by the sensational tune and very melodious vocals.
